The spring semester of the META Czech Language Courses (February - May 2018) is fully occupied.

The autumn semester of our courses will start in October 2018.

If you are interested, you may already make a pre-registration. We will contact all registered students in September 2018 and send you an updated information and a new schedule.

10 most frequently asked questions about our Czech Language Courses

1. Who can sign up for these courses?
The courses are designed for adults aged 16-99 years, nationality and type of residence in the Czech Republic do not matter.

2. How many students are in one class?
Max. 13 students.

3. How to enroll?
Registration for the courses includes 3 steps:

  • online registration;
  • placement test (address: META, V Tůních 10, Prague 2);
  • contract signing (address: META, V Tůních 10, Prague 2).

4. I do not know my level of knowledge of Czech, how to define it?
Please, indicate the level of your proficiency in Czech language in the registration form approximately. Within a week after the registration we will contact you and invite you to the placement test (held in the META office, V Tůních 10, Prague 2). Based on the test results, we may recommend you a proper class/level.

5. May I change my class/level?
Yes, during the first two weeks after the start of the course, you can change your class/level, if it will allow class fullness.

6. How do I pay the course fee?
The cash in the META office (V Tůních 10, Prague 2) or by money transfer to our account number 2300884089/2010 (please always indicate the name and surname of the course participants in the notes to the money transfer).

7. What textbook do you use, should I buy any?
There are no additional costs. Your teacher will provide you with all study materials (usually a combination of exercises from different textbooks and teacher's own material).

8. Will be my teacher a native speaker?
Yes, all our teachers are native speakers, they all have a philological or pedagogical university education and experience in teaching Czech language for foreigners.

9. May I appy for a Student long term visa according to studies at these courses?
Unfortunately, not. This course does not give a right to appy for a Student long term visa.

10. Do I get a certificate upon successful completion of the course?
Yes, you will obtain a certificate of course completion in the case of at least 70% attendance.
